Lesbian Kissing – Plabita Borthakur Kiss Vs Ridhi Dogra Kiss
Lesbian Kiss is now a pretty common thing in Indian Web Series. Many creators came up with interesting stories based on female characters as well as lesbian characters. What makes it more interesting that there are two Indian web series released on the occasion of International Women’s day, and fans start comparing which story – especially the lesbian kiss – was better.
Well, the results were pretty clear but both the scenes are raunchy and exciting and thrilling and amazing to watch. Let’s take a look and see the insight of the scene buildup, the necessity of the kiss, how it went, and also the performance of the actors.
Ridhi Dogra Kiss In The Married Woman
Alt Balaji has hyped the show the moment they come up with the idea. Based on the critically acclaimed book by the same name, it has done justice to the source material. The story follows a housewife named Aastha played by Ridhi Dogra who went on the journey of self-exploration.
It was expected that Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra would share a few kissing and intimate scenes in the web series. While most of the people were thinking that the Ridhi Dogra kiss will be a sweet sensation it went flat.
You can see the lack of passion and chemistry between the lesbian couple played by Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra. One can see the discomfort of the kiss in their eyes.
Makers of the show also revealed that the actors demanded a closed set to perform their intimate scenes. While I believe, casting big names from the industry and giving them lesbian characters to play is an appealing move for the ALT Balaji, the lack of passion, performance, and intimacy backfire and the show didn’t count itself as a path-breaking Indian web series representing LGBTQIA+ community.
Plabita Borthakur Kiss In Bombay Begums
Netflix’s women-centric web series Bombay Begums narrates the inter-connected stories of 5 women and their struggles to get powers. While the show has been in controversies for many reasons, praised for many reasons, and hated as well for many reasons, we are only focusing on the lesbian kiss shared between Plabita Borthakur and Shangmitra Hitaishi.
The series is bold and beautiful as Alankrita Shrivastav has written and directed the web series. Alankrita is already famous for making women-centric movies such as Lipstick Under My Burkha and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare.
Plabita Borthakur falls flat with the portrayal of such a complex character Ayesha. In most of the scenes, she was only nagging and filling the screen while actresses like Pooja Bhatt, Amruta Subhash, and Shahana Goswami stole the show right away.
Plabita’s innocent looks made me question whether she felt some Ayesha inside her or not. Plabita Lesbian kiss was very intimate and bold but the chemistry lacks completely. It never felt that the kiss means something to her which supposed to reveal the character’s comfort.
Which Lesbian kiss is better? Ridhi Dogra or Plabita Borthakur
If the audience has to decide on these two only, it is definitely Plabita Borthakur kiss. She was more confident than Ridhi Dogra performing lesbian kiss for the web series. However take the poll to answer the question.
